What you’re buying, how checkout and delivery work, and what you may do with the files.

Updated 8 October 2026

What am I buying?

Fill In the Dots: A Family History Starter Kit for Beginners is a digital download: 7 files (PDFs in US Letter and A4, and a spreadsheet). Nothing is shipped.

Fill In the Dots teaches a method and gives you forms, a workbook and a directory of free record sources. It does not include records about your family, a subscription to any website, DNA testing, or professional research. What you find depends on what records survive and are online for your family.

How do purchase and delivery work?

Checkout, payment and delivery are handled by Gumroad. Gumroad is the merchant of record for the sale and collects any sales tax or VAT (Gumroad Help Center). Gumroad’s own terms and privacy policy apply to checkout. Your files arrive on a download page and in a receipt email from Gumroad.

What may I do with the files?

  • Download, print and use the files for yourself and your family, as often as you like.
  • Fill in the forms on paper or on screen.
  • Print copies of the forms for a class, workshop, society meeting or family reunion you lead.
  • Please don’t resell, publish or share the files themselves.
  • The free sampler may be shared with anyone.

Refunds

If the kit isn’t useful to you, reply to your Gumroad receipt email within 30 days of purchase and ask for a refund. You’ll get your money back — you don’t need to explain or return anything. See the refund policy.

Websites and records

The kit describes websites and archives run by others. They may change what they offer, their sign-in rules or their prices at any time. No one can promise what records exist or survive for any family.

Who sells it?

Fill In the Dots is made by Wren & Co., and sold and delivered through Gumroad. To contact us, reply to your Gumroad receipt email (see Contact).
